It's been a long time since I've shared a travel post here, both because we purposely halted all travel plans from March 2020 until a couple of months ago due to the pandemic, and because I share most of my personal adventures on my Instagram account these days. But a couple of weeks ago we took a family vacation to Florida and it was genuinely one of the best trips I've ever taken, so I wanted to share some of the pictures we took along the way. (I've share a couple of fun Reels/videos of the trip on my Instagram as well.)
We started off at Disney World, something my husband and I admittedly dreaded. We just didn't think Disney would be our jam, but we knew how much it meant to our kids. Well, guess what? We were wrong. So wrong. We both loved our Disney experience almost as much at the kids did, and definitely plan to go back. (Side note: I'll be sharing a post soon with tips for Disney first timers, like we were.) We stayed on site and visited 3 parks in 3 days. It was hot and exhausting and magical and so, so fun.
For the second part of our trip, we went to Clearwater Beach, where we visited two years ago. It was admittedly more crowded this time, but we still absolutely loved it. Clearwater Beach is consistently named one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and, while very touristy, the town is cute and fun as well. We visited our beloved Clearwater Marine rescue aquarium, but spent most of the time in the ocean or pool, or just relaxing. It was a really nice way to decompress after Disney World.
It was a little weird to be traveling again. My husband has been back on tour with the band since April so he was used to it, but I definitely had low grade anxiety. We made what we hoped were responsible choices, and thankfully no one got sick.
It's fun to share snapshots of our lives here sometimes, and maybe I'll do it more often. It reminds me of the early days of blogging (Bubby and Bean is in its 11th year!), when it was more like journaling. Sometimes I wish we could bring that back.
